YOUR EGO & COMFORT ZONE
The main reason people can find it terrifying to step out of their comfort zone is because of their ego. Ultimately, our ego’s job is to keep us ‘safe’ and what it knows. Therefor anything that is unknown to the ego is not guaranteed and therefore considered ‘unsafe’.

Here are a number of steps to get your ego
⭐️ on your side ⭐️
Identify a step you’d like to take outside of your comfort zone
Break this down into even smaller, simple steps to make it as straightt forward as possible
Take the first small step
Pause and notice how you’re feeling
Reassure your ego that you’re ok and still safe
Repeat steps 3-5
By doing this consistently you will build trust with your ego and over time your ego will show less resistance when you want to step out of your comfort zone.
Sometimes I imagine my ego as a child on their first day of school - acknowledge it is new & scary, take one step at a time, and reassure that everything is going to be ok.

We hear about the “ego death” from people who claim to be “spiritual gurus”, from this many people assume that shutting down the ego all together is the goal here. However, I want to introduce you to another perspective that you may not have come across.
Despite it holding us back in certain areas, our ego is also a wonderful part of us and should be treated with kindness (it is also incredibly helpful in other ways). Instead of shutting our ego out, the trick here is to become friends with your ego.
